Old Sounds
I was missing the old ambience of Minecraft so I created this pack.
Three versions:
Default brings back the old sounds. No sounds were muted.
Classic: pre-Beta 1.8 brings back the old sounds and removes many sounds to recreate the pre-Beta 1.8 atmosphere (e.g. the underwater and the Nether are quiet again).
Classic: pre-1.4.2 same as above but recreates the atmosphere between 1.0.0 and 1.3.2 instead.
To preserve the consistency of the game experience, some new sounds are changed to old style (e.g. Deepslate uses old stone sounds for consistency with stone).
Should I choose the «Default» pack or the «Classic» packs?
Use the «Default» pack if you don’t want any sound to be turned off.
Example with «Default» pack: Bow uses old sound (pre-1.0.0), Furnace makes sound (since 1.9), Blast Furnace makes sound (since its inception in 1.14).
Use the «Classic» packs if you want to feel the old atmosphere of Minecraft.
The same example but with «pre-Beta 1.8» pack: Bow uses old sound (pre-1.0.0), Furnace is silent (pre-1.9), Blast Furnace is silent for consistency (it would be weird to have a silent furnace while the blast furnace has a crackle sound).
How did you make this pack?
I watched historical footage of Minecraft to get the best results since the official launcher doesn’t provide most of the old sounds.
The pack is essentially coded in JavaScript so that it is lightweight. A text tutorial is included in the pack if you want to change the sounds.
Which texture pack do you recommend for a classic experience?
You can combine my pack with the Programmer Art pack or another retro texture pack:
Developer Art+
Classic Alternative
Golden Days
Simpler Times
For a complete retro experience, I also recommend my other pack: Old Lighting & Old Water.
Can I use your pack for my own public ressource pack?
Yes. Please credit me (Sencie) with a link to my pack in your description.

Xonk Sounds
The Shader Used in the previews is not mine, but Chocapic13’s V9
This pack aims to make the game a little more immersive, but also be not too annoying.
I recommend playing with this on survival mode
it adds 100+ individual sounds, featuring better footstep sounds, different winds for different places, ambient noises like birds, (tried to make the birds as un-annoying as possible so don’t worry about that) and other animals. Caves are no longer silent with this pack, they’ve become kinda eerie, Oceans now feel ocean-y.
i wanted the game to have a sort of mysterious feel with this, so you might hear some interesting things.
I hope you enjoy this pack.
Place the pack on top of the enabled resource packs list so it can override other pack, for the best experience.
Thanks to:
i haven’t tested to see if it works on versions earlier than 1.14.4, but it might.

that have this installed and you don’t want to turn off players sounds entirely. note that you still

[InstallAddon]
normally Minecraft has items that can not be obtained by crafting because there is no recipe for
those items. In case you have datapack/plugin/mod or some sort of modification
that allows those items to be crafted. This add-on will add sounds to them. (not install on default)
In case you want to uninstall addon you have to uninstall the whole datapack and reinstall it.
items example: spawn egg, bedrock, obsidian, lava bucket, potion, grass block
[ForceInstall]
in above Craftsound version 3.0, I implement a check to my datapack. it will check the version of
the scoreboard it install inside the save and decide to install if there is none, do noting if version is
correct and warn you if the version is incorrect. The last will only appear when you in appropriately
update the datapack (see how to update). in the case you are quite lazy to do the whole process
you can force install the datapack. but it not guarantee that the datapack will work without bug.
[UnInstall]
straightforward, plz do it before update or change the Craftsound version
IMPORTANT HOW TO UPDATE!
1) run command «/function playbabe:menu/craftsound/open»
2) an options message should appear, left-click at [uninstall] message
3) the datapack should uninstall and disable itself.
4) delete old version datapack in world folder where it installed
5) download latest version and install it
