Pre-Debut
BOYSTORY (男孩 的 故事) es un grupo de hip-hop chino creado por Tencent Music Entertainment Group (TME) y JYP Entertainment (NCC Entertainment). El grupo está compuesto por seis miembros: Han Yu, Zi Hao, Xin Long, Zeyu, Ming Rui y Shu Yang, y su edad promedio era de 12 años al inicio del proyecto. El 1 de septiembre de 2017 los chicos lanzaron su primer sencillo bajo el proyecto «Real! Project» y finalmente, el 21 de septiembre de 2018 debutaron de manera oficial con su primer mini álbum.
Primer Single ‘HOW OLD R U’
El 1 de septiembre de 2017 BOYSTORY lanza su primer sencillo y respectivo vídeo musical. Lanzarían tres singles más con sus videos musicales antes de debutar oficialmente.
El primer sencillo HOW OLD R U es una canción que pretende atraer a una gran audiencia, ofrece una mezcla perfecta de ritmos pop apropiados que se ajustan en la rutina de baile.
El 2 de octubre se realizó la primera presentación del grupo, participando en el «Concierto Juvenil del Día Nacional» celebrado en Hong Kong e interpretando el baile «BURN» y la canción «HOW OLD R U». El 29 de noviembre, ganó el Premio al Mejor Recién Llegado de Hip-Hop en el Asia Music Festival.
Segundo Single ‘Can’t Stop’
El 15 de diciembre de 2017, se lanzó el segundo sencillo «Can’t Stop». En una semana, ganó el primer lugar en las cuatro principales listas de música nacionales de China, y las vistas en línea en 12 horas del vídeo musical únicamente en China excedieron los 5 millones.
El 8 de febrero de 2018, BOYSTORY debutó en el escenario de CCTV y participó en la Gala del Festival de Primavera de CCTV Network.
Tercer Single ‘Jump Up’
El 30 de marzo de 2018 se lanzó el tercer sencillo «Jump Up». Una canción que combina el género Moombahton basado en el Hip Hop y el Trap. El ritmo simple y fuerte de la canción, así como el sentimiento travieso de los chicos agregan una atmósfera alegre a la canción, la que se integra al poderoso ritmo de la música electrónica.
Cuarto Single ‘Handz Up’
Luego de su sencillo numero dos (Can’t Stop) y tres (Jump Up), en diciembre de 2017 y marzo de 2018 respectivamente, el 1 de junio se comenzó a revelar material para su cuarto sencillo que tiene por nombre Handz Up y se lanzó con su respectivo vídeo musical el 12 de junio. El último single previo al debut fue producido por el fundador de JYP Entertainment, Park Jin Young.
2018: Debut con Primer Mini Álbum ‘Enough’
El día 20 de septiembre del 2018 BOYSTORY lanzó el MV para la canción «Enough» la cual le da el nombre a su primer mini-álbum. El grupo hizo su debut oficial el 21 de septiembre de 2018 con su mini-álbum que incluía todos los sencillos anteriores al debut y la canción debut «Enough». Luego, se realizó la gira debut «SHOWCASE».
Regreso con Quinto Single ‘Stay Magical’
Tan sólo un mes después de su debut, el 21 de octubre de 2018, BOYSTORY lanzó 奇妙里 (Stay Magical), su quinto sencillo en general y primero contando desde el debut oficial.
Regreso con Sexto Single ‘For U’
El 22 de noviembre, BOYSTORY lanzó el video musical para el single «For U», un tema dedicado hacia los fans de BOYSTORY, «BOSS» (nombre de fandom).
2019: Regreso con Séptimo Single ‘OH MY GOSH’
El 15 de marzo, BOYSTORY lanzo en Instagram la agenda para su nuevo sencillo ‘OH MY GOSH’. El 27 de marzo, lanzaron el teaser del vídeo musical para «OH MY GOSH». El 28 de marzo, liberaron el single, así como también revelaron el vídeo respectivo.
Regreso con Octavo Single ‘Too Busy’
El grupo regresó el 26 de julio de 2019 con «Too Busy», una colaboración con su compañero de agencia, Jackson Wang. En octubre, los chicos fueron invitados a participar en el festival «KCON THAILAND» de la compañía surcoreana Mnet, el que fue celebrado en Impact Arena, Bangkok.
2020: Regreso con Segundo Mini Álbum ‘I=U=WE 序(Xu)’
El 25 de diciembre de 2019 se anunció que el grupo haría su regreso en breve, además se trataría del primer lanzamiento autocompuesto por los integrantes. Días más tarde, el 6 de enero de 2020 se liberó el segundo mini álbum del grupo que incluye cinco canciones. Una de las canciones se pudo escuchar antes del lanzamiento en la plataforma Kugou Music.
Lanzamiento de Single Especial ‘Change’
Una última canción de composición propia de BOYSTORY llamada «CHANGE», se lanzó oficialmente el 1 de junio a las 10:00 am en QQMusic.
La canción se lanza como parte de los singles especiales para ayudar al bienestar de los niños de zonas rurales más necesitadas.
